LANCASTER, OHIO – View From the Top: The DGA Tour Tees Off the 2025 Season at The View Open

It’s officially go time. The 2025 DGA Tour season launches Saturday, April 19, with the highly anticipated return of The View Open at The View Golf Course in Lancaster, Ohio. A home track for many of the league’s fiercest competitors, The View is more than familiar turf—it’s where friendships are forged, rivalries are renewed, and the race for the DGA Cup begins.

With tee times starting at 3:00 PM, the stage is set for drama in the tour’s season opener. A handful of competitors have memberships here, and with no handicaps in play for the opener, course familiarity could provide a significant edge.

Newcomer Watch: Enter Jack Spence

A major talking point heading into The View Open is the debut of Jack Spence, a new addition to the league and a seasoned player with an already successful amateur golf resume. His addition to the DGA Tour not only raises the competitive bar but also sends a message to the field: the race for the 2025 title just got tougher. Spence brings a smooth swing, a sharp mental game, and the kind of steady presence that could spell trouble for the tour regulars.

Back in View: Familiar Faces and Fierce Competition

Returning to the scene of last year’s opening shootout, the field is packed with players who know every corner of The View. Kyler Messner took home the hardware last season with an impressive +12, besting Jack Bosser (+15) and Trevor Monk (+16), who rounded out the top three. Bosser remains one of the most dangerous players in the league—especially when handicaps are off the table. His deep understanding of the layout, combined with a pure swing and elite course management, makes him one of the early favorites.

Target on His Back: Can Trevor Repeat?

All eyes will also be on Trevor Monk, who comes into the season with the confidence of a reigning DGA Tour Champion. He capped off the 2024 campaign in style with a title-clinching win and now sets his sights on going back-to-back. A third-place finish at last year’s View Open showed he’s more than capable of taming the course—but winning this year would solidify his spot as the tour’s top dog.

The Chase Is On

There’s no shortage of threats in the field. Shea McGuire and Tyler Monk each posted +17 scores at this event in 2024, finishing just outside the top three. Ryan Arter and Auston Sorg weren’t far behind at +19, both showing the kind of consistency that could pay dividends in 2025. Veteran grinders like Mike McGuire and Gianni Young, who each shot +24, are no strangers to the leaderboard either.

Then there’s Harry Gilmore, the league’s only shoeless participant, who continues to test the theory that traction is optional in competitive golf. Whether the lack of footwear is a mental tactic or simply an aversion to socks, no one really knows—but a few competitors might be quietly rooting for him to stub a toe on the front nine.

Let the Season Begin

The View Open marks more than just the start of another season—it’s the launch of new storylines, the rekindling of rivalries, and the next chapter in DGA history. With a stacked field, tight fairways, and plenty of trash talk guaranteed, the 2025 season is teed up for greatness.

Let the chase begin. The DGA Tour is officially back.
