The DGA Tour’s ninth event of the season, the Trout Club Triumph, brought a thrilling and competitive atmosphere to the Trout Club Golf Course. Auston Sorg emerged victorious, claiming his first win of the season after a heartbreaking second-place finish the previous week. Sorg’s strong performance was highlighted by birdies on holes 6 and 8, helping him to a net score of -3, a gross score of 76, and a total of 65 points.

Mike McGuire also had a standout performance, shooting the best round of his DGA Tour career. McGuire’s consistent play earned him an even net score, a gross score of 83, and a total of 55 points, securing him a second-place finish. His impressive round included steady play across both the front and back nine, with key pars that kept him in contention throughout the tournament.

Kyler Messner and Trevor Monk tied for third place, each with a net score of +3 and a gross score of 76 and 83, respectively, totaling 50 points. Messner, playing with a 1 handicap, showed why he has been a top competitor all season, while Monk’s round included notable moments that kept him in the top ranks.

Tyler Monk finished in fifth place with a net score of +6 and a gross score of 81, totaling 38 points. Despite the challenging conditions, Monk’s round featured moments of brilliance, including a chip-in eagle on the 15th hole.

Seth Paszke, finishing sixth, had a net score of +8 and a gross score of 98, totaling 35 points. His round was highlighted by his determination and grit, playing through tough conditions.

Harry Gilmore finished in seventh place with a net score of +10 and a gross score of 92, totaling 33 points. Gilmore’s round included a chip-in par on the 15th hole, showcasing his short-game skills.

Shea McGuire and Dylan Sharp rounded out the leaderboard, finishing in eighth and ninth places, respectively. McGuire had a net score of +11 and a gross score of 89, totaling 31 points, while Sharp struggled with a net score of +13 and a gross score of 100, totaling 29 points. Despite Sharp’s challenges, including a near-miss cart incident with Mike McGuire, he remained determined and focused throughout his round.

The event also featured a unique moment on the front nine when a baby kitten joined the round for three holes, bringing good vibes and many meows, though unfortunately no birdies for the group, as both McGuire and Sharp are still searching for their first birdie on the tour.

With the DGA Tour Championship just around the corner at Cumberland Trails Golf Course, the excitement and anticipation are at an all-time high. Auston Sorg’s victory has positioned him as a strong contender, while Mike McGuire’s best-ever round has given him a boost of confidence heading into the final event. The tight competition among the top players, including Kyler Messner, Trevor Monk, and Tyler Monk, promises a thrilling conclusion to the season.
